Re: My Mosaic

Wonder when it will get easier

Re: My Mosaic

Just watched videos… TikTok, Pinterest, read blogs too @Ru-bee  I’ve wanted to give it a go for ages, but we have a sheet sander which is absolutely horrible to use and I have a bad shoulder, so it put me off cause you always have to use a sander. When watching the videos and stuff, I seen people using paint stripper and an orbital sander- smaller and easier to use. I picked up one from bunnings for like $50. Once you’ve stripped it back it only really needs a light sand- so easier on my shoulder.
I’m using paint and wall paper too.

Re: My Mosaic

I wish I knew and could tell you @Bow

Even though today isn't easy, it's nearly over. Today will end and I hope that tomorrow is a little easier 💜

Re: My Mosaic

That's so cool that you've been able to learn from those videos @Bow I find myself watching lots of short videos of furniture flipping and am always so intrigued about whether I could do that...

I'd love to see the finished projects if you can share any when they're done!

I'm about to finish up for the night. Thanks for chatting with me tonight, I know it's been a hard day. I'll be back on Sunday so I might see you then 💜

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry to hear you still have a bad shoulder! It's been months! Did you end up getting a scan? Do you use an electric sander? @Bow

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah I had a scan @tyme  and I’ve got tendinitis, bursitis, cysts, degenerative changes and developing osteoarthritis. So I  have a referral for physio. I haven’t been yet though. Was gonna wait til we move cause I knew moving would aggravate it.
it’s always sore, but there are things that I do that make it worse. I kinda just put up with it. I should make an appointment for physio though…. Just like I should make an appointment for the gp, dietitian and blood test.

Re: My Mosaic

morning @Bow i was just reading up on the paint stripping process, sounds really interesting (and also seems like hard work - hope you're not feeling too achy?) how's your Friday going?

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @rav3n

my shoulder is a bit sorer today than usual, but oh well.
I went and seen my CM today. I’m heaps tired and really flat so I was pretty useless. Bit frozen, a lot mute and just spaced out. It’s frustrating. Ya know ya wanna talk. Ya know ya wanna share things, answer questions with more than a yes/no or a nod or shake of the head. But that’s mostly all I could manage this morning. I wasn’t even able to tell her that I’ve had a trauma anniversary this week.
She was hmmming about my lack of sleep and ongoing struggle with nightmares. My increase in anxiety that’s affecting me so much. SH. All my avoidance. She was heaps concerned that I’ve not seen my dietician in months, or my gp and haven’t had bloods done in ages. Was suppose to of made a gp appointment online while I sat there with her 😩

everything’s a real struggle at the moment. She didn’t do a safety check in. Oh well

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow ahh yikes! hopefully you can take it easy today?

i know what you mean about wanting to share more but not being able to get the words out today - and considering that you were feeling really tired and flat today, i'm proud of you for showing up. glad you got to chat a bit with CM, but i see that there was some key things that you wanted to touch on but didn't get up to it so i just wanna check with you - are you able to stay safe at the moment? is there anything the forums can do to support you in staying safe?

will you be seeing SW or CM again anytime soon? would it be okay to wait till then to book the gp appt?

Re: My Mosaic

Just on the couch curled up watching a movie @rav3n

D’s last day of school today. Then holidays. Then new school. Hoping I don’t pick her up from school this arvo in tears.

Trying to stay safe… staying connected here may help.

don’t see my SW until at least the week of the 14th when she is back from leave. And will see my CM briefly next Tuesday when I see my pdoc and then I’ll see her again the following week.
