Connection with dreams and dementia

Has there been any connection with the way the brain works whilst dreaming and dementia. I've found with people I know with dementia their thought process is somewhat similar to when we dream. Ie loose threads of various things connected together in an abstract storyline.

Unfortunately I don't know too much about dementia, but I did find your post very interesting. There has been a discussion started in the Carers Forum about dementia - perhaps you could contribute there. The members who contributed to that thread might have some opinions on it.

Could you please elaborate exactly what you've heard these people say?
I have this and there's been some suggestion I may have a process similar to early onset dementia.
