Re: So you want to be a Peer Support Worker?

@tyme @MJG017

Hi Tyme,

I am looking all over the forums for that link you gave me for the Sane job opportunities. Would you mind reposting it here? Thanks, sorry to be a bother.

Re: So you want to be a Peer Support Worker?

Hey @Oaktree ,

Looks like it was last updated in Nov https://www.sane.org/about-sane/careers-at-sane

I'll keep you updated if there are jobs available. There definitely will be soon.

Re: So you want to be a Peer Support Worker?

Thank you @tyme

I will keep my eyes peeled.

Today’s webinar was amazing, I hope that you get the opportunity to watch it

Re: So you want to be a Peer Support Worker?

Hey @Oaktree , Yes, I was on the webinar just then. It was powerful to show how far we have come in the last few decades but it also shows how much further we need to go. I found it fascinating that there was a positive spin to the hundred of psychiatrists walking out in NSW - that is, it's time to ACT now. This is the perfect time for real change to happen. Are we continuing to medicalise mental health conditions, or are we going to treat people holistically?

For those who have physical health conditions, you may full well know how hard it is to be a mental health ward and get the adequate support for your physical needs. And vice versa, when you have a physical condition, it is hard to get the MH support you need in a regular ward....
