New here

Hello. I am new to this forum. I joined because I am married to a Veteran who suffers from mental illness. I too suffer from PTSD from emergency services. I wanted to connect with other families who have been through the same. Or who know what it's like to support someone you love. 🙂

Welcome @Mumoftwoboys It's great to e-meet you!

From what you've shared there are a few spaces here on the forums which might be great to check out:

Our Veteran Space - Shoulder to Shoulder

and it's Family and carer counterpart - Shoulder to Shoulder Veteran Families

You might also like to check out our Friends, Family and Carers space

I hope this is handy to help you get started in exploring the forums

Re: New here

Thank you 🙂

Re: New here

Hello @Mumoftwoboys

With the links that @Ru-bee shared with you

If you like to tag me that will be great

Re: New here

Sadly @Mumoftwoboys I too, have endured PTSD from emergency services.  Its heartbreaking and invasive. Surely, money could be directed to alternative and long term approaches in real life. The focus on clinical and emergency services is often not really the best fir for Mental Health problems and is very wasteful and yep, causing of more harm.

Tag me if you want to talk.

Re: New here

@Appleblossom I agree

It's been a really hard transition to normal life without being a paramedic. Feels like all those years meant nothing. 13 years of service and your just forgotten:(

Luckily I have my family to keep me going xx

I hope your ok. Xx

Re: New here

I'm still trying to work out what this all means haha. So if I tag you on the other forum?

Xx @Shaz51

Re: New here

Hi @Mumoftwoboys @and welcome to the forums 🌷

Wherever and whenever you “tag” someone, it just means using the @ symbol immediately followed by their user name.  By typing the first few letters generally their name will appear in a drop-down box and you can click on that, which will send them a message linked to the place you tagged them from.

Tag from the page you are on, and they will respond there, perhaps then tagging you from

another thread to help you learn to move about the forums and connect with others of similar experience, or “social” threads where you can hang out for company and getting to know others here.

Enjoy the journey 😊

Some of us have been around for years and have developed strong forum friendships.

Re: New here

Hi I am New here too. I just joined because I am sad I have PTSD from my horrific childhood but my current problem is that I live with someone who has been diagnosed with BPD but thinks there is nothing wrong and won’t get help. It constantly breaks my heart. I have to lock myself in my room I feel really lost
