Re: Sorryy

2 positives from today.

I reported the staff member who was on last night to the manager.

I saw my therapist and it helped expressing how I've been feeling.

It's wayy toooo hot today. 44. I'm going to try and rest the rest of the day.

Re: Sorryy

Hey @The-red-centaur ,

Just want to let you know I'm sitting with you, too. I got out of PARC recently and I'm trying to get admitted privately to a new hospital because my usual psychiatrist is on leave. I need more support than what I'm getting/have access to.

I went to a GP appointment today, and had a loooonnngg chat to her about how thin things are on the ground in mental health - she was the main one saying these words and I was agreeing. I've been shafted around between Psych triage, CATT, PARC and the private system. Nurse at PARC told me to self-refer to Triage and Triage said "you can't self-refer" and "we're not the backup for the private system". I was discharged from CATT on Tuesday. Will finally will get accepted into PHN soon (over the next few working days), pending assessment.

It's a merry-go-round!

Re: Sorryy

@Spirit_Healer i know that all too well.

I was thrown around different hospitals, wards, departments, for a long time.

The mental health system said my recovery had to be done in the community, community sector said they couldn't help coz I was too "unwell". It went back and forth often weekly for many many many years.

Moving states, getting on ndis, having my asd and adhd recognised, and being treated more holistically and as an actual person, slowly made the difference.

They started treating me where I was at instead of shoving me off to the next service. I had to learn to fight for my rights and my supports. Slowly, things stared to align and I haven't been to ed or inpatient (for mental health) for a few months, which a massive thing for me coz i was in ed few times a week for a VERY long time coz no one was willing to help.

Im grateful for all the people who actually helped me find my way. I know things aren't perfect and I still struggle a lot. But im way better than I used to be.

You will get there. Trust the process and keep advocating and fighting for yourself.

Re: Sorryy

Thank you, @The-red-centaur .

PHN can't see me until Tue 7 Jan.

I have been accepted for admission to my local private hospital on Monday 30 Dec.

Hopefully, with my (financially funded) ticket to the private system, I will start getting better care.
